Bui Dam is a hydroelectric project that would hopefully cut down on the pollution in China. It's being funded because of the huge problem of pollution, so much so that they're doing everything they can.

To dam long
The largest lake in Ghana is Lake Volta. It was created following the construction of the Akosombo Dam on the Volta River in 1965.
The Anfat dam supplies potable water to Metro Manila and powers a hydro-electric power plant. The dam Angat dam was built in 1967 after a devastating typhoon.
The akosombo dam has many advantages such as the fact that the people who live in Ghana have learnt many life skills from the dam such as fishing, carpenting and canoe building. Also the akosombo dam has brought a health service in for the workers and free transport to and from work. On the economic sie of things the akosombo dam has brought in a transport route. There is now 2500 new jobs for the locals and also due to where the dam is situated is has allowed there to be a port for tomatoes and other procude to be available. There is a lot of more fertile soil for the agricultural side of Ghana and a wider diversity of plants!
the three powers were the United States Great Britan and The Soviet Union '-'
The Akosombo dam produces H.E.P (Hydro Electric Power). It does so by the water coming from the reservoir (Lake Volta) goes into the dam which spins a turbine as it goes through, this then spins a generator. The generator has a stator and a rotor. The turbine spins the rotor which is a magnet and around the edge is the stator. The stator contains a metal (usually copper) which spins 1000's of times a minute creating Hydro Electricity.
Lake Volta is in Ghana (West Africa) on the Volta River. It is a reservoir created by the Akosombo Dam.
£130 million ( hehe by Wendy obeng x )
Ghana was very crafty about building there dam because they got several things out of it like they swapped their metal for alliminium and they got a free toilet for every 50 mud huts. so the loo's were a very good thing even though it was per 50 houses it was still a very good deal and all ghana had to do was supply cheap electricity! xox
