A study by MITI - Japan's equivalent of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - concluded that 54% of the world's most important inventions of the past 100 years were British. Of the rest, 25% were American and 5% Japanese.

The MITI study means little. It clearly is wrong.

Clearly the US has been the most influential nation in the world.

The USA has been the most influential nation in history. It's ground breaking in free government and the number of Nobel Prize winners is astounding. Just counting one invention, the airplane, is one indicator.

Britain has the most sucesfull, hardest, longest and most copied Military in the world with the British S.A.S being copied by around 17-20 diffrent countrys with the majority of those countrys basing there military on the British S.A.S.

Britain also plays a big role in telivison and music, just 2 examples.... The Beatles being the biggest selling band in the world, and James Bond being the longest running film franchise of all time.
