Nowadays (2018) the largest source of foreign exchange for Mexico are its exports of manufactured products, which generate an income of $373 billion per year. Among these, machinery and equipment (37%), motor vehicles and parts (25%), as well as mineral fuels (6%) are the largest contributors.

In terms of internal economy, and sources of income in the form of taxes, the economic sectors include services (61%), industry (29%) and agriculture (3%), plus government activities (6%); the Mexican GDP in purchase power parity terms is measured at $2.4 trillion (2017 est).
