The lodoicea maldivica or coco de mer seeds are the symbol of Seychelles. It looks like the human female pelvic region. It is the largest seed in the world. It is extremely rare, even on the Seychelles, so on these islands it is only legal to buy them in certain stores, all legal cocos de mer carry a number and come with an export permit. Usually the seed is taken out of the nut both to limit transport cost (over 40 lbs) and for cultivation purposes. It is very hard, even in the Seychelles, to get these seeds to germinate, the trees grow very slow, it takes both male and female trees to grow these seeds and it takes up to 7 years for a seed to mature. Thieves have been arrested for stealing 41 seeds, leading to government rule that all trees on the islands have to have registration.
By the way, English is not my native tongue, please feel free to improve.

a tree ---------------------------------------------------- The World's largest seed is believed to be that of the Giant Fan Palm. It can be called the coco de mer because it travels by sea (mer) to other lands. It is also known as the double coconut, and some folk claim that it looks rather like your "butt end" (the cheeks of your backside). The tree is called "Lodoicea maldivica", and my guess of why it's called that is that "mal" means "bad" and "divica" probably means "division", because the seed looks as though it was meant to be two seeds.
