The North Sea is the sea that is part of the Atlantic Ocean and lies between the British Isles and the continent of Europe.
The English Channel lies between Southern England and Northern France and the North Sea lies between the East coast of Britain and Northern European countries such as Belgium, Holland, Germany, Denmark and Norway.

Since England is located in the British Isles, there is no physical landmass connecting the two countries. However, if a direct path is taken, Denmark is situated between England and Sweden (disregarding the North Sea). From a spherical perspective of the Earth, part of the Netherlands also lies between the two.By including Scotland and Wales with England (ie. the island of Great Britain), Norway is also in between the British Isles and Sweden.
West of Scandinavia is Norway, which is part of the Scandinavian Peninsula. To the west of Norway lies the Atlantic Ocean. Additionally, if considering broader geography, the British Isles, particularly the United Kingdom, are located further west of Scandinavia.
To the East of the British Isles is the North Sea, a part of the Atlantic Ocean. To the South between Britain and France is the English Channel, which the French call "La Manche."
It is the Irish Sea, which is between England and Wales, and Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic.
Iceland is an island country that lies about 375 miles offshore in the Atlantic Ocean. It is located between Greenland and the British Isles.
The Skaggerak Strait lies between Denmark and Norway.
Sweden lies between Norway and Finland.
