In the 1970's when they hit a population of one billion they knew that they had to do something to curb population growth, so they enacted the policy of one child per family.
-----------
To curb overpopulation. Chinas economy and Natural Resources would not be able to keep otherwise.
What a coincidence I have just done this in school and many people have different opinions, some people say it must be abolished because of some of the negative effects such as ladies forced to undergo abortions, sterilizations and such and some people say it should not be abolished because it is helping china's increasing population slowly decrease.
A lot!! When couples can only have one child but have a preference on it's sex what do you think might happen? Hundreds and hundreds of people get abortions if they are having a girl because people in China do not want them. It's proven that boys are more likely to take care of the parents when they get older. It's a smart investment to have a boy. If they do not have an abortion, the baby girl's are often left on the side of the road to be left for dead or to be picked up by an orphannage. They are overflowing with unwanted baby girls, and some boys. And what happens when all the baby girls are killed off? Who will the boys marry? Girls are being kidnapped and forced into marriage because there are NO girls in some places. And what happens if you have twins??
Basically, it's a good idea, but with NOT WORK.
chinese history,chinas one_child policy
is the china one child policy positive? is the china one child policy positive? it has posative points...it did slowly stableise china's populaton
It has not ended and has not been scheduled to do so.
The Chinese government introduced the one child policy in 1979 to alleviate social and environmental problems in China.
it will end when the Chinese have a say in the government
the person who introduced the one child policy is the government of china
The One Child Policy was enacted in the late 1970s to limit the population growth.
- forced sterilization - must pay for the investment the government put into your first child - very little or no support from the government
the Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping brought in the policy in 1979 to try and stop communist china's population growth.

The Chinese one-child policy was enacted in 1979 by the Chinese government under leader Deng Xiaoping as a means to curb population growth. While it is a government policy rather than an invention, it is often associated with Deng Xiaoping due to his role in its implementation.
