The city directly east of Muleshoe, Texas, is Littlefield. Located in Lamb County, Littlefield is approximately 20 miles away from Muleshoe. Both cities are part of the Texas Panhandle region.
I'm not positive about all the states, but I'll take a shot at it. I suspect that the five states are: Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado and New Mexico, with the two "panhandle" states being Texas and Oklahoma.
