Ancient Israel was a theocratic kingdom and so the predominant religion and the religion of the state was the religion of the Israelites. It is often considered to be Judaism although modern Orthodox Judaism is different from this religion because the debates and discussions of the Talmud and subsequent works had not yet been written.

There were probably minorities of Canaanite Polytheists, Egyptian Polytheists, and Hellenic Polytheists in and around the Ancient Kingdoms of Israel.
