Western Antarctica is the part of Antarctica roughly within the Western Hemisphere. It represents about 1/3 of the total area of the continent.

In the west (150° E to 130° W longitude), the division is by the Transantarctic Mountains. The Ross Sea and Weddell Sea form the borders of the region, which extends from the South Pole to the Antarctic Peninsula.
