North and South Dakota are on the western border of Minnesota. To the northwest is mostly Canada (Manitoba and western Ontario).

Minnesota is the state which is east of both North Dakota and South Dakota. Minnesota shares its western border with North Dakota and South Dakota. Minnesota is bordered on the south by Iowa and on the east by Wisconsin and Michigan. Minnesota is bordered on the north by the Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Ontario.
The only states sharing a border with Canada in Lake Superior are Minnesota and Michigan. Wisconsin does not share a border with Canada, because the borders of Minnesota and Michigan converge south of the International Border.
