According to a study in New Jersey, Los Angeles and their cities still have the largest percentage of homicides related to gangs than any other cities in America. Los Angeles is one of the only cities where gangs are linked to more homicides than drugs.
This is not the case in Chicago.
"Using data from 2003 through 2008, the analysis looked at homicides in large cities in 17 states and found the highest level of gang-related murders in Los Angeles, Oakland and Long Beach, Calif., Oklahoma City and Newark."
