It was very hard to adjust to the customs and expectations of a new country. I came from China, where it was very usual to be close to people. Hugs were very common, however people in Canada were not as close. Maybe it was because of the small population and the vast amount of space to move around in, but my attempt to hug and be close to my "friends" were sometimes taken the wrong way.

Good luck to you. And rest assured that there will be other like you in your new home.

After 8 years in Canada, I've become more used to the dynamics here, and I'm sure you will soon feel at home in your new country.
