In 1500 B.C., Queen Hatshepsut, in Eygpt collected animals from many different parts of Africa and finally estabilished the first real Zoo. Then a Chinese Emperor Wang, built a very large zoo in 1100 B.C., and named it "The Garden of Intelligence" This Zoo is the oldest Zoo still in existence today. it was built in 1752, by Emperor Franz Josef. He built it for his wife Marie Theresa, in Vienna. There were collections of animals as far back as 2400 BC, but they were not actual Zoos.
