Awami League is the ruling national party of Bangladesh. Late Mujibar Rahaman is the founder of the said party. Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Late Rahaman is the current Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
The actual forefathers / architects of Bangladesh were: 1. Sher-E-Bangla A. K. Fazlul Huq (1873 - 1962); 2. Abul Hamid Khan Bhashani (1880 - 1976); 3. Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy (1892 - 1963); 4. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (1920 - 1975), and a few others to name. The current leader (as of 2015) and Prime Minister of Bangladesh is Sheikh Hasina (the eldest daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman).
Awami National Party was created in 1986.
The Bangladesh Krishak Sramik Awami League (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ কৃষক শ্রমিক আওয়ামী লীগ Bangladesh Krishôk Sromik Aoami Lig) was a political amalgmation of the Awami League with the Krishak Sramik Party that supported President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in governing Bangladesh. It was established in June 1975; other political parties were outlawed at the time.[1] BAKSAL dissolved after Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's assassination on August 15, 1975, and the KSP and League once again became independent political parties. The party advocated state socialism. BAKSAL was dissolved and the part of the 5th amendment to the Bangladeshi constitution that made the party the sole legal party was scrapped after Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was killed on the 15th August 1975. Basically it was a way of the ruling party to cling to power through a para-socialism & one country, one leader policy. A black spot at the history of both Mr. Mujibur Rahman & Bangladesh.
Pakistan Awami Tehrik was created in 1989-05.
National Awami Party - Wali - was created in 1967.
