20th century Europe saw dramatic changes in life. The most devastating were that of the two world wars and the Great Depression. This led to new war weapons (radar, the tank, nuclear weapons, the fighter plane, poison gas, etc.) and economic transformation. Europe also saw a sharp increase in the standard of living and increased industrialization throughout the entire continent. In addition, medicine was dramatically improved.
