Hawkwind visited America in 2007 for NEARfest and two other gigs. There are no confirmed plans to tour America yet, but there are likely some underway. There was rumoured to be a tour in Spring 2011, but it didn't materialise. If they do tour again, it'll almost definitely cover the North East, from what I've heard, not sure about anywhere else. Head-Hawk Dave Brock is 70 now, so I don't think he's particularly up for slumming it, but if they can get together a few solid, fairly paid dates, I'm sure it'll happen, but touring America is expensive, especially for a band that has been underground there for most of their career, and the notorious US customs don't help!

If not Hawkwind, there is also Nik Turner and his series of bands, including the Hawklords (a compilation of ex-Hawkwind members who've recently toured Britain and Europe) which may come to America in the future, and, fans of Hawkwind/Motorhead will love Gunslinger, ex-Hawkwind bassist Alan Davey's own band - they've actually just come off a monthlong US stint across the south and east in September 2011, so I'm sure they'll be back this year (2012) or soon....
