Abraham Lincoln wanted slavery banned across the world, including the United States. He was content with containing it in the areas that already had it in the U.S., but South Carolina thought that he would immediately issue something to free all of the slaves, and so they seceded right after he won the Election of 1860.
1863 I think
The South became convinced that Lincoln was an abolitionist even though did not state that he wanted to ban slavery.
Yes they did. Abraham Lincoln banned slavery from slave states that included California.
In fact Lincoln owned slaves and viewed himself as a farmer or common man. Lincoln did not want to ban slavery on states that served as buffers between the Union and Confederacy states because the Confederacy would be able to attack easier its a battle strategy. Lincoln was more concerned with saving the Union at all cost than banning slavery
he was not with slavery he was with the North or with Abraham Lincoln
yes!!
Abraham Lincoln had always had a distaste for slavery. It is assumed that this is due in part to his strong religious convictions.
Vice president nominee George Pendleton led the opposition to the 13th amendment, which was the ban on slavery. As a result the amendment made changes to its content in order to gain more supporters.
the 13th amendment abolished slavery in 1865 (the year that Lincoln died) hope this helps! =]
He thought Lincoln didn't want to end slavery.
he wanted to stop slavery
Lincoln did so much with slavery
