You would think that they would be in the North mountains because they usually live in the Northern montains anywhere else so this would be the place!
Elk like to live in forests, and the trees need to be at least 3 meters high. In Northern Norway the trees I have seen have been 1 meter high, if they are there at all. Plenty elk in Buskerud, but down in the valleys, not up on mountains.
