Country code +970(dialed as 00 970 from many places) is assigned to the Palestinian Territories. However, the numbering is still under the numbering plan of Israel, and from some locations it may be necessary (or prohibited) to use Israel's country code +972 to dial the Palestinian Territories.

When calling the Palestinian Territories from outside Palestine and Israel, you must drop the trunk prefix '0' from the beginning of the domestic number, whether using country code +970 or country code +972.

City codes are as follows:

  • 2: central and southern West Bank, including Ramallah, Jerusalem, Hebron
  • 4: Jenin area of northern West Bank
  • 8: Gaza Strip
  • 9: northern West Bank, including Nablus, Tubas, Tulkarm, Qalqilya, Salfit
  • 56: mobile (Wataniya Telecom)
  • 59: mobile (Jawwal)

palestine < فلسطين

(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but North America (USA, Canada, etc.) uses 011, Japan uses 010, Australia uses 0011, and many other countries use different prefixes.)
