West Virginia doesn't have any mountains. It has hills and bluffs. Mountains are caused by sliding plates under the ocean and near volcanoes. Hills and bluffs are caused by ice glaciers slowly floating down river years ago. I would beg to differ your answer that West Virginia does not have any Mountains since we as a state are located in the middle of the Appalachian Mountains, which are the oldest mountain's in the United States. That being said they have been weathered to be "smaller" or "shorter" making them seem as though they would be consider as hills. Being the oldest, they have been weathered for much longer than say the Rockies or the Nevada Mountain's. As for your information given about how Mountains are formed I agree our Mountain's were formed by plates sliding together under the ocean. The ocean then left leaving its deposits of animals etc. behind. This left us with some of the riches coal, gas, oil and Limestone seams around.

Yes, the Ohio River Valley is located west of the Appalachian Mountains. The river flows through several states, including Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky, and forms part of the boundary between the Appalachian region to the east and the more expansive plains and hills to the west. The valley itself is characterized by its fertile land and significant historical importance in the westward expansion of the United States.
