"Westernization" describes the process by which western countries promote and at times impose their cultural outlook, languages, political solutions, ethical and moral perspectives, economic structures etc on the rest of the world.

The question implies that "westernization" is alien to Europe and had to be "enforced" (imposed?) from elsewhere. This is a misunderstanding of the origins of the concept "western".

The modern concept "western" developed during the Cold War. It specifically included the countries of Western Europe as well as countries such as the USA which can be said to lie to the west of Europe.

During the Cold War, "westernization" was promoted by the countries of the west, and when fascists or nationalist states in southern Europe and communist states in eastern Europe collapsed in the face of popular revolution, this was in part due to the popularity of western ideals and western lifestyles. Westernization was not imposed on southern or eastern Europe, but was embraced.

True, it was not embraced by everyone, and some people who did embrace it may, later, have changed their minds. Nevertheless, westernization was not imposed (or enforced) in Europe.

Is globalization the same as westernization?

Not quite. Globalization means basically that we're travelling more, and selling and importing goods to and from all over the place. But globalization itself doesn't say anything about who's influencing who. Westernization OTOH means that characteristics of Europe and North America are picked up more abroad than Europe and North America are picking up characteristics of the far East for instance.
