John Hieftje is the current mayor of Ann Arbor, Michigan, a position he has held since the year 2000. During his decade long tenure, Hieftje has been awarded numerous distinctions, including : the Environmental Leadership Award for 2008, the 2004 Elected Local Official of the Year, and the Preservationist of the Year award in 2003.
