No one person is in charge of England- although the Queen is Head of State, the country is a Parliamentary democracy similar to Canada, with a Prime Minister at the head of Government. Although he is the chief political leader, responsibility for the governance and running of the nation falls to the ruling political party in Parliament as a whole, with a number of different Ministers and Secretaries of State being responsible for different aspects of the nation's infrastructure.

After the Prime Minister, next in line as principal leader is the Chancellor of the Exchequer- then it is the Deputy Prime Minister, and then the Home Secretary.
