Head Of State
The Bahamas is a constitutional monarchy, and as of my last update, the head of state is King Charles III, who became king following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022. However, the day-to-day governance of the country is carried out by the Prime Minister and the elected government. The Governor-General represents the king in the Bahamas, performing ceremonial duties and functions on his behalf.
