It would not be totally accurate to say that the Scottish do not like the UK. Scotland is part of the UK, but many people want Scotland to be independent. It is normal for countries to want independence. There is no animosity between Scotland and other parts of the UK. They would just like to rule themselves. There would still be very strong ties between Scotland and the other countries in the UK if Scotland did become independent.
