When the European settlement started, land was stolen from the Aboriginals and diseases were introduced. Venereal diseases were introduced, they caused diseased aboriginal women to become infertile (unable to have children) this caused a massive drop in numbers of aboriginal births. Also, most Aboriginals saw no point in bringing a child into a world where their land had been stolen from them. Now, Aboriginals are in no danger of dying out, they have been accepted into Australia, a now multicultural society. They have also contributed greatly to our image and values. Hope you find this helpful S xx
