Settlers killed buffalo in Texas primarily for economic gain, as the hide, meat, and bones were valuable resources. The expansion of the railroad and the demand for buffalo products contributed to large-scale hunting. Additionally, the extermination of buffalo was seen as a strategy to undermine Native American tribes that relied on the buffalo for their livelihood. This led to significant ecological disruption and the near extinction of the species.
Buffalo Hump (or Buffalo Piss) needed fellow Comanches to attack settlers for vengeance on raids by whites and also to expel whites from Texas.
The settlers new that buffalo was a major resource for Native Americans. If the could kill buffalo, they could kill the Native Americans by getting rid of their food, clothing, and weapon supply since buffalo provided all 3 of these supplies. They also wanted the buffalo hide since they were expensive and in high demand.
They were like the Buffalo soldiers, brave and proud. They fought to keep the Western Frontier safe and all of the settlers in it safe as well.
Obviously they came from Texas because Texas is the home of the Buffalo
The mass killing of millions of buffalo by settlers in the 19th century had devastating effects on Native American tribes who relied on buffalo for food, clothing, and shelter. This destruction of the buffalo population contributed to the displacement and cultural disruption of these tribes, leading to increased reliance on government aid and a loss of traditional lifestyles. Additionally, the decline of the buffalo herds significantly altered the Great Plains ecosystem, impacting other wildlife and plant communities.
