Why do most of Mexico's people live in cities?

Although most media depicts Mexico as an arid, poor and underpopulated country with some small villages here and there, it is actually a developing country which stands as the 10th most populated and the 11th largest economy in the world. As such, it has experienced a rapid -- although not complete and by no means equal -- industrialization process; this means many people look for better quality of life in the cities. Nowadays (2015) approximately 79.2% of the population lives and works within an urban area.
