November through March is when Hawaii gets the big waves.
Big waves are typically created by strong winds blowing over a large distance of open water, called fetch. The longer the fetch and the stronger the winds, the bigger the waves. Other factors such as storms, tides, and underwater topography can also contribute to the formation of big waves.
Big waves as it catches better but then how big is big ? they don't work very well on small waves such as 1-3 foot. i would use them in about chest high conditions 4foot + and over head conditions and bigger. have fun !

A John Hewitt drew maps in Cornwall around 1810. I find no trace of a seascape painter. well I can! There was an artist called John Hewitt in Newquay Cornwall in the 1970s. My parents bought a lovely original of a stormy sky over breaking waves, beautiful translucent turquoise as the sun breaks through the Spumante at the top of the waves. We still love Cornwall and have some lovely holidays there. John Hewitts painting captures Cornish seascapes beautifully.
