Europe
Some of the traditions and ideals originated from various parts of Europe, but the commercial holiday of Halloween is very limited to America.
The movement that emphasized science and reasoning and originated in Europe is known as the Enlightenment. Spanning the 17th and 18th centuries, it championed ideals such as individual liberty, skepticism of authority, and the application of rational thought to understand and improve society. Key figures included philosophers like John Locke, Voltaire, and Immanuel Kant, who advocated for reason as a means to challenge traditional beliefs and promote progress. The Enlightenment laid the groundwork for modern democratic and scientific thought.
Towards the end of the Ice Age groups of Humans (HomoSapiens) are thought to have left Africa and entered and settled in the southern parts of Europe. These people are called the Cro Magnons in modern science.
The Enlightenment had a significant impact on Europe by promoting ideas of reason, individualism, and progress. It challenged traditional authority and led to advancements in science, philosophy, and political thought. These ideas helped to shape modern Western societies and laid the foundation for democratic principles and human rights.
