Why must a Muslim travel to Mecca once during their lives?

To perform Hajj ( pilgrimage ) which is one of the five pillars of Islam, so it's pretty important for a Muslim to do it at least once in their life if he is able .
God is has asked the Muslims to go to mecca to pray or make wishes to a cubed shaped black house that used to be gods house.

Islam is based on Global brother hood. Performing Hajj is one of the five Fundamentals of Islam. Again, here is something that people find strange - eventhough it is Biblical, as well. That is because Christianity left the Law of Moses. If Christians had entered the Law of Moses, yet believing in Jesus, they would then have performed a yearly pilgrimmage to the Temple Mount, in Jerusalem.

That is because the very same right of pilgrimmage taught by Abraham to Ishmael (the Arabs) was also taught by Abraham to Isaac (the Jews).

In Arabic, the pilgrimmage is called Hajj. In Hebrew it is called Higga. The rites are very simillar.

And what is the purpose? There are many. You gather together en masse. You're there with millions of other people. No distinction between rich and poor. All are there to worship God. It is an incredible experience. I've done it twice.

One goes away purified, and with a renewed sense of the greatness of this Islamic Nation of Muhammad.
