Shortly after its arrival in New York City in 1886, the Statue of Liberty faced the threat of neglect and disrepair due to a lack of funding for its maintenance. Initially, there was insufficient financial support from both the U.S. government and private donors to properly care for the monument. Additionally, the statue was initially intended to be a gift from France, which added to the uncertainty about its long-term upkeep. It was only after a successful fundraising campaign led by journalist Joseph Pulitzer that the necessary funds were raised to ensure the statue's preservation.
It arrived in 1885.

WEll, there is the Empire State Building (but that's not really a STATUE) so a big statue in New York would definitely have to be the famous Statue Of Liberty!! lildancer99<33
