Where are the London docklands?

The London Docklands used to be an important dock for sugar and rum from the west indies. They are situated in the East of London and are now a major financial centre complementing the City of London. Redevelopment of the docks started in the 1980s with something under construction pretty much continuously since then. Some areas of the docks have been filled in and some have been left as open areas of water. You can get there via either the Jubilee Line or Docklands light Railway. Amenities have much improved over the years with housing, shops and now the Docklands Museum.
