Can a Mexican travel within the US with a Mexican passport?

Yes believe it or not in Mexico the federal government issues passports, and in the countries where Mexico has foreign relations it is accepted as and ID. In the countries that require a visa to go in the country legally, you need a passport. If we full fill the requirements of the American State department, we can travel inside the USA, with a Mexican Passport.

Yes, but it depends on the countries he/she wants to visit. For example, Canada and the US require visa; a Mexican can enter most European countries with his/her passport only.

Yes, that is the purpose of a passport. They are allowed to stay 90 days for travelling but any longer they are supposed to get a visa.
