Tijuana, MX has become synonymous with spontaneous trips south of the border. Unlike Cancun, another popular U.S. tourist destination, Tijuana is only a few miles from the California border. In fact, the city’s suburbs join with those of San Diego. Aside from all of the partying that the Mexican state of Baja may be known for, Tijuana has several entertaining cultural activities to offer.

The Tijuana Cultural Center was established in 1982 and features lecture halls, a library and a museum detailing the history of the North American West Coast. The building also contains an IMAX theater planetarium. The city is home to several professional sports teams, as well, such as Club Tijuana, the local soccer franchise, and the Tijuana Dragons, who are part of the American Basketball League.

Tijuana has done its best to attract tourism from all Demographics, both for those looking for a wild weekend getaway and those simply seeking a few days of culture from a Mexican Metropolis.
