No. When in public we should be wearing our dress blues if there is a jacket. The green Service uniform is not authorized for public wear. The dress blue coat is worn with an undershirt underneath and if it is taken off then we would not be in full uniform.
Issued weapons only; for all branches of the US military.
The Marines are part of the Navy. Originally they were solders who fought on ships, hence the name Marines. When pirates would try to take over a ship, Marines would fight against them. Later Marines were also used for land battles.
Troop movements shall not be available to the general public. In some cases they will come back on commercial liners. Generally though, individuals take military flights home on planes that are already scheduled to be returning for cargo etc.
Because of tradition. When the Marines we aboard the ship they would take off their jacket, and being on the deck all the time caused their pants to fade, but their jacket didn't. Actually. The reason the coat is a darker color is because they would wade into swamps during marches, then out, then back in. The water only came up to about their waist, so it would fade much quicker than the jacket which remained out of the water.
to take care of buisness!
