Yes he did. Coolidge came from a wealthy and respected Protestant family; his ancestors had been here since America's earliest days. It was therefore expected that he would get a strong education and bring credit to his family name. He attended a private school in Vermont called Black River Academy, and then graduated from Amherst College, a private liberal arts college in Massachusetts.
