One of the lesser known accomplishments of George Washington was his turning down of the peoples interest in having him be the King of the United States. Some of the other important accomplishments as president, Washington helped organize the body that gave us the Constitution, the Constitutional Convention. He took the fragmented states and bound them together in a common cause and established the federal government. He did not interfere with the policy-making abilities that he felt the Constitution gave to Congress and he kept us out of the French Revolution that was between England and France.
