When he was a senator and presidential candidate in 1960, JFK wrote a letter asking that Martin Luther king be released from prison, expressing his interest "as an American citizen." in 1962 the first black student came to Ole Miss university and Kennedy had to call in the military because there were riots but eventually the negro got in and enrolled and eventually graduated from the university. Ole miss is considered a significant event in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. Also significant was jfk's civil rights address. After 2 black students tried to get into the university of alabama and the governor of Alabama blocked the doors to prevent them from enrolling, Kennedy had to call in the military again and the students were eventually admitted to the university. Later that day JFK gave a nationwide televised address calling for a bill which prevented segregation e.g. No "whites only" establishments. This bill would eventually become the civil rights act of 1964, which president Lyndon Johnson was able to pass through a bitterly divided congress by envoking the memory of slain JFK. Although originally opposed to the march on Washington, worried it would harm the civil rights movement, JFK was impressed by martin Luther king's "I Have a Dream" speech and he invited king as well as other prominent marchers to the white house.

An amusement park can help to show segregation by conducting historical tours or exhibits that highlight the racial segregation that existed in the past. They can also recreate segregated spaces or provide reenactments to give visitors a sense of what it was like during that time period. By sharing this history, an amusement park can promote understanding and reflection on a dark chapter in our collective past.

John F. Kennedy made a famous speech in 1962 promising that men would land on the moon before the end of the 1960s. John F. Kennedy did give his support to this project, but he died in November 1963 and the first moon landings were not until July 1969.
