Is Taft a bad president?

"Taft was a bad president because he was a bad politition and did not even want to be president. he only became president because his wife wanted to be the first lady. in my opinion Taft did nothing wat so ever to help us except those little reforms. so no he was a bbbbbaaaaaaaddd pres.!!!" Most of these words are untrue, though I completely respect that the author of the article is allowed to have his own opinon. I did some research on Taft, and in my opinion, William Howard Taft was a great president. He was an amazing student who graduated from the prestigious Yale University with a doctorate in Law. He was intelligent and had good ideas, and he claimed both New Mexico and Arizona for the United States during his term. His wife, Helen Harrem's whims did not affect his decisions, by the way. He did reform things, as the author above stated, and there were no economy problems during his term, which is more than I can say for our current president. He always kept things under control, and even made some improvements on America. That's why I think Taft was a good president, even if he did get stuck in a bathtub.

What did Taft do to help Titanic survivors?

President William H. Taft was in the midst of a reelection campaign which at the time was creating deep divisions from within the Republican party. Though the Titanic disaster put a pause to politics, he did little to help Titanic survivors. He did not launch an investigative commission on the disaster, nor did he do the sensible thing and not have flags be lowered for a national mourning. His only positive ties to Titanic was that he spoke at the funeral of Major Archibald Butt, who was a Titanic victim and close friend of Taft's.

Which president got stuck in a bathtub?

The story is told that President William Howard Taft (in office 1909-1913) got stuck in a White House bathtub and it took several men to pull him out. The truth of the story can not be verified-- it is almost certainly false. What is true is that Taft was very heavy , weighing in at over 300 pounds, and that a new larger bath tub was installed for him in the White House. See the related link for a picture of the four installers sitting together in the new tub.

Why did Theodore Roosevelt run for presidency in 1912?

Roosevelt served almost two full terms since he became President very early in Mckinley's second term. Therefore, he declared that he would not seek a third term in 1908. As 1908 approached he began to have second thoughts and was reluctant to give up the Presidency, but did so. By 1912, he was even more sure that he could do a better job than President Taft and tried to get the Republican nomination. After he failed at that, he formed his own party in order to run anyway, against both Taft and the Democrat, Wilson.
