This is a very trick question. As of 3/15/21, there have been 45 presidents. However, there have been 46 administrations. The reason for this is because of President Grover Cleveland serving two non-consecutive terms. Because he succeeded his own successor, President Benjamin Harrison, both of President Cleveland‘s terms are counted separately, thus making him the 22nd and 24th President of the United States. So despite the fact that President Biden is counted as the 46th President, he’s actually the 45th person to serve in the office.
