Roger Staubach served in the U.S. Navy for four years. After graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1963, he was commissioned as an officer and served on active duty until 1967, including a tour of duty in the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he went on to have a successful career in the NFL.
