The Canadian Government acts much like that of Great Britain, a monarchy & Parliament. Canada is ruled by a monarchial figure, such as a King or Queen (the current ruler of Canada is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II), and is governed (having the rule enforced) by the Canadian Parliament and Prime Minister.

The United States Government is a Constitutional Republic (although it is more commonly known as a democracy), in which the People of the nation choose their leaders and have the potential of being the nation's leader. Also, laws, or rulings, are not passed with out the consensus (agreement) of the People.

It is different for Canada. The King or, in this case, Queen must be born of the Royal Family. The people choose the Prime Minister and Parliament members.

This is but a summary description on the Canadian Government and United States Government. To go into full detail will require more research. Much more research.

I can, however, give you a short answer. It is as follows:

"They are two completely different government types."
