Ted Kennedy enlisted in the US Army after being kicked out of Harvard for cheating. He tried the Army military intelligence course but was dropped. He then became an MP and his father's political connections ensured he never saw Korea, where there was a war going on. He was stationed as an MP/Honor Guard in Paris, France at SHAPE HQ which was located in Paris at the time. He never rose above PFC in rank.
