First, be careful when searching online. There are several alleged biographical sketches of President Obama's mother that are not biographical sketches at all, but are anti-Obama Propaganda. There is no evidence, for example, that Ann Dunham was a Communist or even a Marxist. On the other hand, even most reliable sources admit the president's mother was a free spirit and made some poor relationship choices; they also note that she deeply loved her son and tried her best to encourage him to do well.
