There was a temporary peace in which the USA was allowed to pull out of South Vietnam in January 1973. In 1975, the corrupt and incompetent government of SV fell after a 55 day invasion by North Vietnam. He got peace and honor for the USA and it's allies, who did their best from 1955 to 1975 to save South Vietnam. Nothing anyone could do, could prevent the takeover by North Vietnam. Since South Vietnam could not save themselves, no other nation could do it for them.
Vietnamisation.
An exchange of prisoners of war with North Vietnam, was a part of President Nixon ' plan of peace with honor
Nixon's plan: A cease fire would take effect, POW's would be released, and the US would withdraw it troops. His plan succeeded.
Nixon said that he would pull troops out of Vietnam. Under a plan called "peace with honor", Nixon planned to negotiate an end to the war.
The correct answer is Vietnamization ... the word Nixon used to describe gradually turning full responsibility of the defense of South Vietnam over to the South Vietnamese military forces while American forces were being withdrawn.
South Vietnam would not survive without the help of U.S, and it would not allow the U.S. to achieve peace with honor.
Nixon and Kissinger concluded that the Vietnam War was becoming increasingly unpopular in the United States, threatening their political stability and legacy. They believed that a "peace with honor" strategy would allow them to withdraw U.S. troops while maintaining the appearance of a successful foreign policy, thereby preserving American credibility. This approach aimed to negotiate a settlement that would allow South Vietnam to remain independent, while still enabling the U.S. to exit the conflict.
Nixon would be better or regen
He would end the war for the US, and, as the saying went back then, bring the "Boy's Home!" And he did!
