o think of all those men and women who have served in the name of my country, in the name of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, is a touching thing that we as a nation celebrate once a year in November-- Veterans Day. But to me it means thinking about the care and respect we provide for those who fought for us over the years. I appreciate that my Grandfather and my Father have fought in wars that are important to my history, but it is more important to me to see how they are being treated now. I hear stories from my sister who works at the VA hospital in Fort Wayne, and the Horror stories on the news about veterans who do not receive proper care. It's sad that we as a nation don't have more self-worth than to provide aid for those who have risked their lives for us. I hope every year that Veterans day teaches Americans to see that despite the problems America faces today, we know because of the people who served the war, there will always be something to fight for--them.
