If Franklin D Roosevelt did not die he would have finished his term in 1948. I think that Franklin would have done the same as Truman in the Berlin Airlift, Defence Cutbacks, supported the creation of the United Nations, Marshall Plan, Signed the National Act of 1947, recognition of Israel, Strikes and economic upheaval and the fair deal.

What on must really consider is the possibility that Franklin would have given the go ahead for the invasion of Japan. He might have done this for revenge because the Japanese attacked Pearl harbour; this might have been portrayed as he wanted the Emperor and Empress out of the way to make Japan a republic, so then while 250,000 American troops are there for the next 5 decades as well as its allies. This means there would have been Great Western influence on Japan. While as this transition from monarchy to republic continues Japan might have joined the US and finally become a state out of American influence.

This does not mean the Japanese would have cooperated with Western Powers, they would done the opposite, mass blood shed would have been split in the invasion and hard resistance would have been put against the US such as killing American soldiers, officers and in reply the Americans would have raped the women and killed the Japanese.

In conclusion I think that if Franklin D Roosevelt did give the go ahead to the invasion of Japan, it would have had the kind of conclusion to the Vietnam War but in this situation the USA would win. Things like the T-28 Tank, T-29 Tank, USS Illinois (BB-65) USS Kentucky (BB-66), and maybe Montana Class battleships might have taken part in the invasion as the American army would have need to muster.
