I have the same rifle. =) From oldguns.net it looks like about 200,000 were made somewhere between 1938 and 1945.
According to the stevens reference files the gun was made between 1936 - 1945, approximately 100,000 were made. As far as value?

The 340 was made from 1950-1985. The 340C, I believe, was 60's. If it does not have a serial number, it is pre 1968. www.countrygunsmith.net
