Jackie Kennedy enjoyed Photography, drawing, and writing. She wanted to become an author but didn't have time as a Senator's wife. She won a magazine contest held by Vogue out of 1000 women when she was 22. She was Jacqueline Bouvier at the time she was working for the Washington-Times Herald as the 'Inquiring Camera Girl," when she became engaged to JFK. She met her future husband in 1951. The photojournalism job was her first paying job, at $42.50 a week. She even interviewed the young Senator for one of the columns she wrote. One could say she was a photojournalist of sorts, since she took pictures of the people she interviewed in addition to writing their responses to questions she asked for each column she wrote.
